| 5th Annual Bikes for Barker Scholarship Fundraiser 12:00 AM
Sylvan Park
Bicycling: Starting at the head of the Root River Trail in Fountain, MN ride is approximately 11 miles, downhill and kid-friendly, to the City Park in Lanesboro. A free shuttle bus will be leaving from Lanesboro at 4 pm to bring bicyclists back to the trail head to pick-up their vehicles. Registration 1 to 2 pm in Fountain.
Motorcycling: Starting at the Albert Lea Armory, the route is a scenic 100-mile motorcycle run. Registration is at 10 am. Bikes will leave at noon.
Both rides end at the Lanesboro City Park for the Big Celebration! Lunch will be provided. Free youth fishing contest, prizes will be awarded.

What do Woody Guthrie, Allison Kraus, Whitney Houston, and Merle Haggard have in common?
All four will be featured in an upcoming sermon series at Lanesboro this July. Lanesboro’s services are Sunday at 8:30 am. The sermon series looks at the lives and music of the performers and seeks to identify what the gospel or good news looks like to them. It’s really fun. July 1st features Woody Guthrie, best known as an American singer-songwriter and folk musician. His musical legacy includes hundreds of political, traditional and children's songs, ballads and improvised works. Guthrie traveled with migrant workers from Oklahoma to California and learned traditional folk and blues songs. His best-known song is "This Land Is Your Land" and many of his recorded songs are archived in the Library of Congress. |

A story walk promotes literacy and physical fitness. Families are encouraged to participate in this activity. Take a short hike in Sylvan Park and enjoy the children's book posted along the trail. | Forkhorn Camp (Multi-Day Event) 6:00 PM
Are you interested in perfecting your ability to track a deer? how about testing your aim at our gun and archery ranges? Forkhorn campers will do these activitis and more at this camp cosponsored by the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association! Campers interested in receiving their Firearms Safety Certification will have to complete the online coursework* prior to camp. Time spent at the ranges during camp will fulfill the Field Day requirements. Campers will spend four of the five nights in the dormitory and the fifth will be spent camping alongside the Root River.
*The online course is a separate fee and details will be mailed with the confirmation packet |
