Event Description
American Place Theatre, a NYC-based theater company, founded in the 1960s, has been a starting point for many well-known actors and playwrights. Its Literature to Life program presents professionally staged verbatim adaptations of significant American literary works, and includes pre- and post-performance discussions. The Secret Life of Bees, a New York Times bestseller, was adapted for the stage in 2005 and covers a young girl’s search for the truth about her mother during the Civil Rights era.
