How War Injuries Affect Your Veteran Students

Understand the Signature Injuries of Afghanistan and Iraq and How They Affect Student Veterans.

Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) affect many veterans.

The School of Communication, Humanities, & Social Sciences (CHSS) is having an open house for students in the Liberal Arts, General Studies, Teacher Ed, and Fine Arts degree programs.

Students who have already declared their major in any of these areas or students who are interested in the degrees are invited to come and meet the CHSS staff and faculty.

Information will be available about the degrees and about the best way to plan for degree completion.

Information will also be available on using these degrees to transfer to a 4-year school, and the transfer advisor from UNM will be attending to help students plan for their future classes at UNM.

Just drop in, meet the dean, associate deans, achievement coach and other staff, meet faculty, and meet other students in the same degree programs. Enter the drawings for the cool CNM gear while you are there. Find out what the CHSS degrees can do for you and your future.

CNM celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month in its own special way with an event titled "Educacion Para Todos (Education for All)." The event is open to the public with special emphasis placed on providing information to the Hispanic community about accessing education at CNM. A wide variety of community organizations that are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month will also be represented at the event. Of course, musicians and dancers will be on hand to entertain and honor Hispanic culture through music. Representatives from various CNM programs of study, ranging from career and technical fields to the arts and sciences, will be available to answer questions. Information will also be provided on a variety of CNM services, such as financial aid; applying for admission to the college; registration; academic and career advisement; English as a Second Language courses; and GED exam preparation courses.
