Notice of Work-Study Session & Notice of Closed Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the Governing Board of Central New Mexico Community College will hold a work-study session on August 22, 2016, beginning at 5 p.m. in the LSA Building - Room 213 at the Main Campus, 525 Buena Vista SE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

At the start of the work-study session, the Board will hold a closed session to discuss collective bargaining, personnel and legal matters. You are invited to CNM’s first Family Open House hosted by Connect Services Cultural Teams and sponsored by the CNM Foundation, Pepsi, and Nusenda Credit Union. We are asking CNM students to invite their parents, significant others, and other supporters to view the campus. CNM Students with children should also bring them to participate in a fun-filled day of activities and games organized by CNM and many community partners and organizations. Families from the general community (including staff and faculty) are also welcome. Activities will Include: CNM’s Makerspace, Early Childhood Toy Library, Albuquerque Fire Dept. providing water fun, Explora Children’s Museum, ABQ Bio Park, Home Depot, Break Dancing, Rock Climbing with the NM National Guard and more! Let’s not forget there will be free ice cream for everyone! The goal is to get as many families on campus as possible to learn about the many educational opportunities CNM has to offer for every type of student. Community members will have the opportunity to take advantage of several workshops during the event such as on the spot basic computer skills support, job and resume assistance, career exploration and how to get started to take a class at CNM. Enrollment Services employees and Academic Coaches will be on site in the “Getting Started at CNM” room to help with admissions applications and to answer questions on academic options and opportunities at CNM. The workshops will be available for walk in assistance throughout the event.

We are asking CNM students to invite their parents, significant others, and other supporters to view the campus. CNM Students with children should also bring them to participate in a fun-filled day of activities and games organized by CNM and many community partners and organizations. Families from the general community (including staff and faculty) are also welcome. Activities will Include: CNM’s Makerspace, Early Childhood Toy Library, Albuquerque Fire Dept. providing water fun, Explora Children’s Museum, ABQ Bio Park, Home Depot, Break Dancing, Rock Climbing with the NM National Guard and more! Let’s not forget there will be free ice cream for everyone! The goal is to get as many families on campus as possible to learn about the many educational opportunities CNM has to offer for every type of student. Community members will have the opportunity to take advantage of several workshops during the event such as on the spot basic computer skills support, job and resume assistance, career exploration and how to get started to take a class at CNM. Enrollment Services employees and Academic Coaches will be on site in the “Getting Started at CNM” room to help with admissions applications and to answer questions on academic options and opportunities at CNM. The workshops will be available for walk in assistance throughout the event.
