This course will help instructors identify open educational resources (OER) to supplement or replace their traditional textbooks and publisher provided content. The goal is to provide a richer learning environment for the student that is not restricted by a single textbook choice. The course will be offered in two sections: Part 1 will focus on content collection and identification while Part 2 will focus on methods of delivery.

Topics covered in Part 2 will include:
  • Creating your own textbook from OER
  • Acceptable file formats for sharing
  • Using Microsoft Word or Apple's Pages for content creation
  • Using Apple's iBooks Author for content creation
