9:00 AM - 1:00 PM (SOAR) Student Orientation, Advisement, and Registration (Main Campus)

SOAR stands for Student Orientation, Advisement, and Registration.  In this New Student Orientation session, you will have the opportunity to meet with an Academic Coach and register for classes*.  By the end of the session, you will have your class schedule for the Summer term.

Additionally, during this orientation, you’ll have the opportunity to meet other new students, get to know the campus, and have some fun! You’ll also learn about all the resources at CNM to help you succeed.

*If you have already registered for classes before this session, do not sign up for this session. Please sign up for a regular orientation session instead.

To register for this session, click the yellow “Register” button above. 

You must register at least 48 business hours before the session begins. 

Please arrive at least 20-30 minutes before your orientation session begins to find parking and check-in.

For this session you MUST have:

-Taken the ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer and submitted your scores to CNM no later than 10 business days before your session.

-Your CNM ID number to sign in & know your CNM user name for the computer lab.

-Logged into your myCNM account at my.cnm.edu and set up your account and password.

-Submitted your OFFICIAL High School transcripts no later than 10 business days before your session.

-Submitted your OFFICIAL dual credit transcripts if you took dual credit classes at another college or university other than CNM. These should be submitted no later than 10 business days before your session.

-Something to write with.

-It is recommended that you wear walking shoes as you will be going on a campus tour.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to the session, you will have to reschedule for another session.

Important: When you arrive for your orientation, look for the yellow signs that will guide you to the parking area.  For parking maps and more information, visit www.cnm.edu/nso.

Please note the building location of this event. You must check-in before you go to the classroom where the session will be held. Follow the yellow signs to the check-in table. Our New Student Orientation Leaders will escort you to the classroom, as well as your guests to the separate Friends, Family, and Ally session.

You will be sent a reminder email with important session information during the week of your session. Be sure to check your email!

Free Box of Food for 50 CNM Students and their Families

The CNM Student Military and Veterans Charter, is partnering with Roadrunner Food Bank Spring 2017 to sponsor a Mobile Food Pantry.  This event will be located at Main Campus in the Smith Brasher Parking Lot, West of the RPM Building.  Students with a valid CNM STUDENT ID and CURENT Spring 2017 CLASS SCHEDULE  will be able to receive a box of food goods for a household of four on a first come, first serve basis. Food will be distributed to the first 50 CNM students and their families.

Come support the CNM Level 4 Nursing Students in a partnered fundraiser with Texas Roadhouse on Monday, February 27 from 4-10pm.

10% of the proceeds will go to support the Mildred McBroom Nursing Pinning Fund at the CNM Foundation.

Texas Roadhouse asks you to call head to save on wait time. The flyer needs to be printed or viewed on your mobile device in order for your meal to count towards this effort. To-Go orders will also count towards the fundraiser.

The Montoya Campus Book Group will meet Thursday, March 9, at 3 p.m. in H Building, Room 115 to discuss Yann Martel’s “Life of Pi.” Will Hickman from Booklist wrote; “Pi Patel, a young man from India, tells how he was shipwrecked and stranded in a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger for 227 days. This outlandish story is only the core of a deceptively complex three-part novel about, ultimately, memory as a narrative and about how we choose truths.” Copies are available for checkout at the Montoya Campus Library in K Building, Room 104.
