Event Description
Actors Expo, the premiere event for aspiring actors, brings celebrity guests to Austin on January 20th. Actors Expo is an open panel that offers information and the “need to know” to break into the entertainment industry. This is the only setting where the audience can directly interact with celebrity guests who act, scout, create and represent.
The panel features film and television heavyweights such as actor MARIO LOPEZ (“Extra!”, “Dancing with the Stars”, and “Saved By the Bell”) along with director, RENNY Harlin (“The Covenant”, “Die Hard2”, “Cliffhanger”, and Driven”) agent NICK REED, Vice President of International Creative Management (ICM) and producer KIA JAM of Capitol Films. The forum will share their up close and personal experiences with the audience and discuss the proper ways to break into the entertainment industry.
Actors Expo is the only event in Texas that provides the tools and resources necessary to reach individual goals in acting, producing, directing and management. Each guest panelist will speak candidly about what it takes to be a working professional in entertainment. Answering questions such as- what you need to know to get the part…but were afraid to ask. “It is the career advice and personal experiences from the pros that help get you started in this business, and Actors Expo brings that information directly to you”, explains Producer, Paolo Sadri. Topics of discussion will include how to search for and obtain an agent/manager, what producers and directors are looking for in film and television, and what to expect on casting calls.
The expos will be held in San Antonio at the San Pedro Play House on Saturday, January 19, from 3:00 – 5:30pm, and at Austin’s Community College Rio Grande Campus Main Stage on Sunday, January 20, from 1:30 – 4:00pm. VIP reception will begin one hour prior. Cost is $25 online until January 10th or $30 after based on availability. VIP tickets are $50 and include a meet and greet with the celebrity panel, one hour before the event.
