ACC 2009 Summer Youth Leadership Institute

Event Description
The ACC Summer Youth Leadership Institute is a five-day event for girls in grades 6-12 focusing on "creating excellence in education; strengthening leadership, self-esteem, & character; and career development." 
 
Interactive workshops, engaging speakers, and an ACC College Fair and EVC Campus tour are scheduled.  Career exploration will take place in the Mobile Go Center. A graduation ceremony is scheduled on 7/18 in conjunction with the 5th Annual Women's Health, Motivation, & Empowerment Conference at EVC. The goal of the Institute is to empower and enable the girls to "discover their voices" and make informed choices that will make a difference and a positive impact in the world through CHANGE - The Coalition of Higher Education for the Advancement of the Next Generation of Excellence!

Admission Information:
This is a free event. Participants must be registered to attend. Pre-registration begins May 18-July 1st. ALL young ladies are encouraged to attend.

This event is sponsored by ACC's Community Outreach Office in collaboration with the African American Women & Girls Council, Girl Scouts of Central Texas, Junior Achievement, and Town Lake Chapter-The Links, Inc.
