Reading the Future (An ACC Big Read Event)
Location: ACC’s Highland Business Center, 5930 Middle Fiskville Road, 78752, Room 201
Time: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

ACC’s Center for Public Policy and Political Studies and ACC’s Education Department in collaboration with ACC’s The Big Read present: Reading the Future: Preparing Texas Educators Today for the Students of Tomorrow, featuring former Austin Mayor Gus Garcia.  As more and more Spanish-speaking students enter Central Texas’ schools at all levels of the educational spectrum, educators must learn and share new and effective ways of encouraging literacy.  The conference will highlight the importance of the teacher’s role in promoting the reading of literature, particularly as a part of bilingual education.
